The Pitfall of Superficial Religion

The Pitfall of Superficial Religion

Religion, when mixed with pop psychology and superficial teachings, can mislead us into thinking joy is found within ourselves. However, true joy is not self-generated but is a result of being in a genuine relationship with Jesus. This calls us to discern and seek a faith that is deeply rooted in biblical truth rather than cultural or religious fads. Superficial religion may offer temporary comfort, but it lacks the depth and substance needed for lasting joy. By grounding our faith in the truth of Scripture and the person of Christ, we can experience a joy that is authentic and enduring.

Colossians 2:8 (KJV): "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."

Reflection: Are there any superficial beliefs or practices in your faith that you need to let go of? How can you deepen your relationship with Christ to experience true joy?
