Obedience Precedes the Miracle

Obedience Precedes the Miracle

God’s provision often waits on the other side of our obedience. Ruth’s decision to follow Naomi, the widow’s willingness to give her last meal, and the oil widow’s act of pouring out what little she had all reveal a pattern: the breakthrough comes after the step of faith, not before. Sometimes, the very thing we are afraid to let go of is the key to the miracle God wants to give us.
Obedience is rarely easy, especially when it requires sacrifice or risk. Yet, God honors the heart that is willing to trust Him enough to act, even when the outcome is uncertain. The miracle you long for may be waiting for you to take that first step of faith, trusting that God will meet you there.

1 Kings 17:13-14 (KJV): “And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son. For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.”

Reflection: Is there something God is asking you to do that feels risky or uncomfortable? What is one step of obedience you can take today, trusting that God will provide on the other side?

Abraham obeyed God and it was counted to him as righteousness. He was willing to kill his beloved son.
