Faithfulness in the Ordinary Matters Deeply to God
Faithfulness in the Ordinary Matters Deeply to God
God delights in using ordinary, available people to accomplish His extraordinary purposes. The world may celebrate fame, talent, or position, but God values faithfulness—especially in the small, unseen acts of obedience. The Philippians were not famous or perfect, but they were steadfast: they showed up, gave generously, prayed, and served alongside Paul.
You don’t have to be in the spotlight to make a difference in God’s kingdom. Sometimes the most significant impact comes from being a “stormy-weather friend”—someone who is present and dependable, even when no one else notices. Consider how you can be faithful in the roles and relationships God has given you, trusting that He sees and values every act of love and service.
Zechariah 4:10 (KJV): “For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the Lord, which run to and fro through the whole earth.”
Reflection: What is one small, unseen act of faithfulness you can commit to today, trusting that God sees and values it?
