Choosing the Path of Hidden Greatness
Choosing the Path of Hidden Greatness
The world celebrates self-promotion and personal achievement, but the way of Jesus is radically different. Humility is not weakness or passivity; it is the strength to lay down your rights, to serve in secret, and to seek God’s approval above all. True greatness in God’s kingdom is found not in climbing the ladder, but in picking up the towel—following Jesus’ example of sacrificial love.
You are invited to resist the pull of self-centered ambition and instead pursue the quiet greatness of humility. When you serve without seeking recognition, when you choose to forgive, when you put others first, you are walking in the footsteps of Christ. The world may overlook humility, but God sees and honors it in His time.
Matthew 6:3-4 (KJV): “But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.”
Reflection: What is one act of service or kindness you can do today without anyone else knowing, simply to honor God and bless someone else?
