Obedience Springs from a Heart Transformed by God

Obedience Springs from a Heart Transformed by God

True Christian obedience is not about checking off a list of rules or performing religious duties out of obligation. Instead, it is the natural overflow of a heart that has been changed by God’s grace. When God gives us a new heart, He plants within us new desires- desires to please Him, to walk in His ways, and to turn away from the things that once held us captive. This transformation is not something we can manufacture on our own; it is the evidence of God’s Spirit at work within us, shaping us to reflect Christ more and more.
As you walk with God, you may notice that things you once resisted, such as forgiving someone, serving quietly, or letting go of a grudge, now seem possible and even joyful. This is the miracle of regeneration. Obedience becomes less about duty and more about delight, because it flows from a heart that loves God and trusts His goodness.

Ezekiel 36:26-27 (KJV):"A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them."

Reflection: Is there an area of your life where obedience feels like a burden? Ask God to show you how He wants to transform your heart in that area, and pray for new desires that align with His will.
