Grace Reaches the Desperate, Not the Deserving
Grace Reaches the Desperate, Not the Deserving
God’s rescue is for those who know they need saving, not for those who think they can save themselves. Like a drowning person grabbing a rescue rope, we come to Jesus not with our achievements, but with our need. We don’t have to clean ourselves up or have all the answers before coming to Him. The only requirement is to reach out in faith, trusting that His grace is enough to meet us in our need and bring us safely home.
This truth frees us from the pressure to perform or pretend. God’s grace is for the desperate, the broken, the humble. When we admit our need, we open ourselves to receive the fullness of His mercy and love. No matter how far you feel from God today, His grace is reaching out to you.
Isaiah 57:15 (KJV): “ For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.”
Reflection: In what area of your life do you feel most desperate or in need of rescue? How can you reach out to Jesus today, trusting that His grace is enough for you right where you are?
